What No One Knows About You

It is WayMaker Wednesday. Bring Your Hidden Self Into The Light.

The Question

Who do you keep close while making sure they never know the real you?

The Thought

Stop calling it closeness if you have to hide to keep it.

You may be loved by good people and still feel alone. Not because their love is false, but because you have only shown them the parts you think they will accept.

That choice feels safe. It also makes real love hard to trust. Every kind word comes with a quiet doubt: They would not say that if they knew the whole truth.

This is the cost of hiding. You can be welcome in the room and still wonder if there is a place for the real you.

You do not need to tell everyone everything. Some people have not earned that trust. But someone safe needs to know what you fear would change how they see you. Until you let yourself be seen, you will keep taking love meant for you and giving it to the person you pretend to be.

Grace does not wait for you to clean up the truth. It meets you in it. Being accepted does not mean every choice was right. It means your worst truth does not get the final word on your worth.

Let one safe person see what you keep hiding.

You cannot be loved where you refuse to be known.

Put It Into Action

Try the One True Thing exercise:

  • Name one true thing you hide because you fear it will change how someone sees you.
  • Choose one safe person who has treated your trust with care.
  • Tell them the truth without making it smaller or adding an excuse.
  • Let yourself be known.

Send this to someone who has made it safe for you to be real.

Forge Forward,
