It is WayMaker Wednesday. Step Back Before You Step Forward
The Question
If you paused long enough to see the truth, what would you change when you start again?
The Thought
Stepping back is not the same as stopping.
Sometimes you need space because you are tired. Sometimes you need it because you are too close to tell the truth. You keep pushing, but the same problem keeps showing up in the same way.
The hard part is not the pause. The hard part is what you do with what you saw.
If the call needs to be made, make it. If the plan is too full, cut it. If the way you are working is costing your peace, change the way you work. Do not step back, see the truth, and then walk right back into the same pattern.
That is where many people lose time. They confuse rest with change. They take a breath, feel better for a day, and then return to the same choice that wore them down in the first place.
A pause should give you more than relief. It should give you a clean next move.
Step back. Tell the truth. Then come back different.
Put It Into Action
The Clean Return
- Step away from the noise for ten quiet minutes.
- Name the one thing you can see now that you could not see before.
- Change one choice before you start again.
- Do not return the same.
Send this to someone who needs to stop and see clearly before they move again.
Forge Forward,
Jon Mayo
