It is WayMaker Wednesday. Pay Attention To What Makes You Glad
The Question
What makes you jump for joy, and why have you made so little room for it?
The Thought
Pay attention to what makes you glad.
Joy is not a side note. It is one way your heart tells the truth. Not every glad thing is a right thing, but the gladness still deserves a look.
Some part of you knows when you are near work, people, and places that fit. You get lighter. You move faster. You are kinder when you come home. You do not have to force as much. That is not small.
The cost of ignoring it is plain. You keep saying yes to what drains you and no to what wakes you up. Then you wonder why prayer feels thin, work feels flat, and rest does not fix you.
Look at your week. There was likely one moment that made you smile before you had time to judge it. Maybe it was a call you wanted to take. Do not brush that off.
God did not make you a machine for duty. He made you alive. Duty matters. So does joy.
Make room for what makes you glad.
Put It Into Action
The Joy Check
- Write down one thing this week that made you glad before you judged it.
- Name the cost of leaving it out of your life.
- Make one small place for it again before next Wednesday.
- Joy needs room.
Send this to someone who needs to make room for what makes them glad.
Forge Forward,
Jon Mayo
