Your Worldview is Too Small (And You Like It That Way)
It is WayMaker Wednesday. Time to shatter the illusion of certainty and choose the uncomfortable pursuit of truth.
The Question
What is the one firmly held belief you are clinging to that, if proven wrong, would unlock massive freedom in your life?
The Thought
The Anti-Value here is Brain-Dead Dogma. It is the arrogant rejection of anything that threatens your tiny, comfortable worldview.
Dogma is soft. It requires no thought, no courage, and demands conformity. It tells you that you already know enough.
But comfort is the real killer.
WayMakers Cultivate Curiosity.
We seek the thrill of the unknown, eager for questions that might shatter our current reality.
Because your current ceiling is always built on the unchallenged assumptions of yesterday. You cannot grow if you refuse to look at what hides in the shadows, or what truth lives outside your echo chamber.
If you are not questioning everything, you are not evolving. The pursuit of wisdom demands visibility. You must be willing to burn your old map to build a better compass.
Put It Into Action
Perform the Contradiction Challenge this week, inspired by the curiosity diagnostic.
- Ask: When was the last time you actively sought out information that contradicted your current beliefs?
- Identify one political commentator, industry expert, or philosophical voice you fundamentally disagree with.
- Spend 30 minutes reading their foundational argument with a commitment to understand, not to argue.
- Your goal is not to agree.
- Your goal is to gain insight.
- Your mind is not a monument to be protected.
- It is a workshop to be sharpened.
Who came to mind while reading this? Send this to them. They might be mistaking certainty for depth.
Forge Forward,
Jon Mayo
