Your Breakthrough Is in the Middle

It is WayMaker Wednesday! Time to challenge your mind, reframe your perspective, and equip yourself for action.

The Question

What if the moment you are rushing through right now, is one of the best moments of your life when remembered from your deathbed?

The Thought

Everyone celebrates the start.

Everyone worships the finish.

But no one talks about the middle.

The messy.

The mundane.

The stretch of time where the vision feels blurry, the affirmation is gone, and the outcome is not yet visible.

But here is the truth:

The middle is the sacred place. It is where everything real is built.

On your tombstone, your entire life will be summarized by a dash.

Your birth.

Your death.

A single line between them.

That line is not symbolic.

It is literal.

It is all you get.

And it is the part we are most tempted to waste.

We rush it.

We numb it.

We distract from it.

We trade it for applause, security, speed.

But the dash is the proving ground.

It is where your resilience is tested.

Where your family is formed.

Where your character is forged.

Where your stewardship is shaped.

Where your true story unfolds.

You do not become a WayMaker in the beginning.

You do not get crowned at the end.

You become one in the middle.

The middle is not a delay.

It is design.

It is not a wilderness.

It is a workshop.

And if you are in it,

you are exactly where you are meant to be.

Put It Into Action

This week, do not rush the moment you are in.

  • Instead, sit in it.
  • Honor it.
  • Extract everything it is here to teach you.
  • Ask: What am I trying to skip that is meant to shape me?
  • What if this stretch of silence is sacred?
  • What would it look like to build slowly, faithfully, and with awe?
  • The middle is not something to survive.
  • It is something to master.
  • It is to be lived.

Send this to them.

They might need a reminder that the in-between is their life.*
